Research Director, Applied Cybersecurity and Network Modernization
Stan Pietrowicz, CISSP, is research director of the applied cybersecurity and network modernization department at Vencore Labs. He is responsible for innovative, customer-focused solutions addressing critical problems in cybersecurity for complex, heterogeneous networks and sensitive data in challenging environments.
In prior positions, Pietrowicz led numerous security assessments and authored critical infrastructure vulnerability studies across carrier NGN/IMS networks, smart energy infrastructure, finance systems and applications, and intelligent transportation and connected vehicle systems. He founded the Vencore Labs SecureSmart™ Managed Security Services business, successfully maturing an innovated concept into a commercial service that protects major utilities across the U.S. today. Pietrowicz actively leads groundbreaking research in cybersecurity for energy delivery systems and cyber-weapon hunting systems, and also manages cyber assessments for diverse clients in finance, healthcare and entertainment.
Pietrowicz received a Master of Science in electrical engineering from Rutgers University and a Bachelor of Engineering in electrical engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology. He is a widely published author and the holder of 25 patents.
He was recognized as an ACS Fellow in 2015 for his numerous contributions across diverse market segments and ranging from solution development to technology transfer and customer engagement.
